Quality is the fulfillment of requirements. However, we don't just want to meet requirements, we want to surprise our patients and partners in a positive way. The quality of care for our patients is our top priority. Anchored in our nursing mission statement, we place the highest value on professionally sound care with heart and mind.

Regardless of the legal obligation, it is our interest and endeavor to convince through performance, quality and efficiency. Measures to permanently maintain and continuously improve the quality of structures, processes and results are seen as priority and future-oriented tasks in our company. With this in mind, we face up to the requirements of current and future statutory regulations and internal quality targets.

Part of opseo's head office is the central quality management department, which is our direct point of contact. This is where the strategic planning of quality management in the care sector and advice for the companies is provided. In addition, the companies / locations are supported by trained and permanently appointed quality officers as required, who audit them annually and provide ongoing advice.

There is a standardized manual for our company. Part of this manual is the quality management manual for nursing care, which regulates and organizes the nursing care processes. The care handbook is divided into a handbook chapter that applies to the entire organization and an individual section for each location. The most important overarching care processes are regulated there in procedural instructions that apply to all companies. Suggestions from the various locations are taken on board and worked on together. Once approved, the process specifications are implemented locally.

Quality inspections

Internal quality checks

We set ourselves very high standards. We regularly undergo internal quality checks, known as audits, not only to maintain our standards but also to continuously improve them. Our internal quality officers and auditors ensure our own requirements and values and keep an eye on quality and performance. As part of the audits, an assessment of the entire facility is carried out, including professional advice for the managers on site.

The inspections of all opseo Group facilities, which take place at least once a year, include, for example, MD test inspections (MD = Medical Service, german: Medizinischer Dienst) in accordance with the current version of the Quality Inspection Guidelines (QPR). In addition, further important points have been added to the internal, uniform inspection catalog in order to obtain a holistic picture of the quality of care.

The internal audits also include structural audits, billing audits, status checks on hygiene, occupational health and safety, fire safety, the status of further training and the need for further training. Where possible, patients and/or their relatives who are able to provide information are interviewed in order to gain an impression of the treatment, friendliness and reliability of the nursing staff.

External quality audits

Compliance with legal requirements is checked at regular intervals by the medical service and the individual state-specific supervisory authorities, such as home supervisory authorities, health authorities, professional associations, the Association of Private Health Insurers (PKV) and others.

Some of the inspections are unannounced and, in addition to internal quality assurance, are an elementary component of providing the best possible care for the patients entrusted to us.

We see external quality audits as an instrument for evaluating and further developing our internally defined processes and procedures.

Opseo has always achieved excellent results in the past. We work intensively to maintain these results and always work in a targeted, structured, sustainable and cooperative manner with all control and advisory bodies. In this way, we secure our long-term position as one of the leading service providers for intensive and respiratory care in Germany.

Academy

In order to provide professional care with heart and mind, a qualified team is required that is always up to date with the latest knowledge. To this end, we generally train our nursing staff to become nursing specialists for out-of-hospital ventilation within the first six months of employment.

Because quality does not come about by itself, we offer all employees involved in care a wide range of further and advanced training opportunities on an ongoing basis.

Our cooperation partner and training center is BaWiG together with Curademic with locations in Essen, Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Regensburg, Nuremberg, Munich and Dresden, where our employees can attend various accredited training courses. In addition, many of the mandatory training hours required by law can be completed via an e-learning platform.

Because quality doesn't just happen.
